Kim Hassenfeld, Clinical Director, lcsw

Kim Hassenfeld serves as the Clinical Director of CCNS, providing supervision and consultation to our therapists as well as providing educational workshops for the community. Kim is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 16 years of experience providing therapy to individuals, couples and families. Kim has expertise in treating clients with anxiety, depression, developmental trauma, and relational and familial issues.

"I believe that change, healing and growth is possible when an individual, couple or family is provided a safe, responsive and understanding therapeutic environment in which to process difficult feelings, learn new ways of approaching others and recognize one's own internal strengths."

Matthew Silver, LCSW, CADC

Matthew is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. His professional practice focuses on treating adults, preteens/ adolescents, and families impacted by mental health and/or substance use. Matthew offers collaborative, growth-oriented therapy and counseling for anyone who wishes to be their best and live their life to the fullest. Matthew is also a clinical supervisor for graduate level interns completing their training at CCNS.

NORMA CANELAS, LCPC

Norma is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with 19 years of experience in providing counseling and therapy in English and Spanish to children, adults, and families.  She has specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, the treatment of trauma, and addressing alcohol and drug abuse.




Maddie Mays, LSW

Maddie is a Licensed Social Worker who works with adults, seniors, couples, and families. Maddie has a particular interest in trauma-informed care and integrates this perspective into her work with clients coping with issues including depression, anxiety, grief, suicidal thoughts, life transitions, and relational conflicts. Maddie has completed training in Perinatal Mood Disorders from the Postpartum Support International organization and is passionate about providing mental health support for new parents.

 "As a therapist, my priority is establishing relationships with clients rooted in trust, safety, and compassion as they explore life’s challenges. I utilize a variety of evidence-based approaches to meet client’s where they are and support them in exploring their own unique story." 


Tommy Nimrod, LCPC

Tommy is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a masters in pastoral counseling. Trained in EMDR, DBT and ACT, Tommy works with clients seeking to address a range of issues, including those who have experienced trauma, have mood issues, or are struggling with relationships. Tommy integrates spiritual insights and physical well-being into his approach to mental health and personal growth. He has a particular interest in guiding adolescent and young men through the intricate transition to adulthood.


Allison Stein, LCSW

Allison is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and works with adults. She has a special interest in the treatment of anxiety disorders as well as unresolved trauma, life transitions, and relational challenges. Working primarily from psychodynamic and attachment perspectives, Allison utilizes several approaches to view and treat clients holistically including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, exposure and response prevention therapy, and mindfulness techniques. Allison is also a clinical supervisor for graduate level interns completing their training at CCNS.

DEBBIE STERNECKY, LCSW

Debbie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with adults, families, couples, teens, and children, and has experience with a wide range of issues, including aging, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, grief and loss, divorce, family dynamics, and academic concerns. Debbie´s approach is psychodynamic and relationally based. She uses play therapy with children and is also Internal Family Systems (IFS) Informed. Debbie is a retired public-school educator who taught students of all cultural backgrounds.

Megan Winzeler, MSW

Megan is a Licensed Social Worker who works with children, adolescents, and adults seeking to address a range of mental health concerns and life struggles. Megan brings a collaborative, growth-oriented approach to working with both individuals and couples. 

"As a therapist, I am genuinely interested in understanding each client’s unique experiences, strengths, and perspectives. I strive to co-create a safe and supportive environment to facilitate a client’s work and growth towards their goals."


Lily king, ADVANCED Clinical Intern

Lily is an advanced clinical intern completing a Master's of Social Work at Loyola University with clinical practice specialization and has worked with children and families as a teacher, tutor and caregiver for over 10 years. In therapy, Lily takes a collaborative approach in working with her adult, adolescent and child clients to address a range of mental health and wellness concerns. Lily is deeply passionate about supporting clients struggling with anxiety, mood concerns, and family and relational issues.

"My priority is creating a trusting, comfortable relationship to safely hold the challenging themes and emotions that can emerge in therapy. I focus on building upon the foundation of strengths that clients already possess. The insights we discover and skills we work together to create can lead to real, positive change".


Erin Corbett, Advanced clinical Intern

Erin Corbett is an advanced clinical intern completing a Master's of Clinical Counseling and Psychotherapy at the Institute for Clinical Social Work. She is interested in working with people of all ages to address various types of traumas, depression, anxiety, relational struggles, personality and mood disorders, as well as those exploring their gender and sexuality.

Jessica Dawson, Advanced Clinical Intern

Jessica Dawson is an advanced clinical intern completing a Master's of Social Work with an advanced clinical practice specialization at Loyola University. She takes a collaborative approach in working with children, adolescents, and adults to address a wide range of mental health and wellness concerns.

"I believe that a client-centered, strengths-based approach is the cornerstone to working with clients as they reflect on their life – experiences, events and emotions. I strive to create a safe and trusting environment in which clients can identify and work toward their therapeutic goals.

Tyson Thurston, Advanced Clinical Intern

Tyson is an advanced clinical intern completing a Master's of Clinical Counseling and Psychotherapy at the Institute for Clinical Social Work. He works from a relational, psychodynamic perspective, informed by two decades of teaching private music lessons to children, adolescents, adults, and seniors.
