Kim Hassenfeld, Clinical Director, lcsw
Kim Hassenfeld serves as the Clinical Director of CCNS, providing supervision and consultation to our therapists as well as providing educational workshops for the community. Kim is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 16 years of experience providing therapy to individuals, couples and families. Kim has expertise in treating clients with anxiety, depression, developmental trauma, and relational and familial issues.
I believe that change, healing and growth is possible when an individual, couple or family is provided a safe, responsive and understanding therapeutic environment in which to process difficult feelings, learn new ways of approaching others and recognize one's own internal strengths.

Matthew Silver, LCSW, CADC
Matthew is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. His professional practice focuses on treating adults, preteens/ adolescents, and families impacted by mental health and/or substance use. Matthew offers collaborative, growth-oriented therapy and counseling for anyone who wishes to be their best and live their life to the fullest. Matthew is also a clinical supervisor for graduate level interns completing their training at CCNS.
As a therapist, I am committed to meeting clients where they are, without value judgments or an agenda for how someone's life "should" be. I see people experiencing a range of concerns including: mood & anxiety disorders, life transitions, relational difficulties, grief & loss, trauma, & substance use issues (addictions).

NORMA CANELAS, LCPC
Norma is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with 19 years of experience in providing counseling and therapy in English and Spanish to children, adults, and families. She has specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, the treatment of trauma, and addressing alcohol and drug abuse.
Kathy fink, lcpc
Kathy is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with over three decades of experience in providing counseling and therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. She utilizes an integrative approach that draws from attachment theory as well as psychodynamic approaches.
Maddie Mays, LSW
Maddie is a Licensed Social Worker who works with children, teens, adults, seniors, and couples. Maddie has a particular interest in trauma-informed care and integrates this perspective into her work with clients coping with difficult life challenges including grief, suicidal thoughts, depression, anxiety, and relational issues.
Tommy Nimrod, LCPC
Tommy is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a masters in pastoral counseling. Trained in EMDR, DBT and ACT, Tommy works with clients seeking to address a range of issues, including those who have experienced trauma, have mood issues, or are struggling with relationships. Tommy integrates spiritual insights and physical well-being into his approach to mental health and personal growth. He has a particular interest in guiding adolescent and young men through the intricate transition to adulthood.
Jan Roy, Psy.D.
Dr. Jan Roy is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with expertise in individual and group psychotherapy, as well as psychological and neuropsychological testing. Working in both the private and public sectors, Dr. Roy’s experience has ranged from work with individuals presenting with severe anxiety and depression, and providing specialized treatment for victims of abuse and trauma, to evaluating military candidates for fitness for duty and high security clearance and duty. Other areas of expertise include bipolar disorder, post-partum depression, schizophrenia spectrum disorders, substance-related and addictive disorders, traumatic brain injury, and personality disorders.

Allison Stein, LCSW
Allison is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and works with adults. She has a special interest in the treatment of anxiety disorders as well as unresolved trauma, life transitions, and relational challenges. Working primarily from psychodynamic and attachment perspectives, Allison utilizes several approaches to view and treat clients holistically including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, exposure and response prevention therapy, and mindfulness techniques. Allison is also a clinical supervisor for graduate level interns completing their training at CCNS.

DEBBIE STERNECKY, LCSW
Debbie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with adults, families, couples, teens, and children, and has experience with a wide range of issues, including aging, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, grief and loss, divorce, family dynamics, and academic concerns. Debbie´s approach is psychodynamic and relationally based. She uses play therapy with children and is also Internal Family Systems (IFS) Informed. Debbie is a retired public-school educator who taught students of all cultural backgrounds.

Julia Quandt, Advanced Clinical Intern
Julia is an advanced clinical intern pursuing a master's in social work at Loyola University Chicago. She is a board-certified music therapist who has experience working with children, adolescents, individuals and families. Julia is passionate about supporting children, adolescents and adults, including LGBTQ+ individuals who have experienced trauma.
In collaborating with my clients, I hope to help them feel more connected with themselves and with others. I utilize an individualized, evidence-based approach for each client to help them shape a future that fosters contentment and inner peace.

Elisabeth Schmidt, ADVANCED Clinical Intern
Elisabeth is an advanced clinical intern completing a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northwestern University. She works with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a wide range of mental health and wellness issues. Elisabeth embraces a collaborative approach that fosters insight, helps clients build on existing strengths, and enhances strategies for navigating life challenges.
