A Board of Directors governs the CNSF. The Board consists of two members (the President and Vice President) from each of the four Societies, the President and two Vice-Presidents of the Board who are appointed from the general membership of the four Societies, one Neurology or Neurosurgery resident (alternating), the immediate Past-Chair of the Board (non-voting), and the CNSF CEO (non-voting). The Governance Committee consists of the CNSF President and the Presidents of the 4 member Societies, who serve as a nominating committee.
Your Congress Abstract Book is included with the May issue of the Journal. There will not be another distribution of the Abstract Book at the Congress, so bring your Abstract book with you for reference during poster and platform sessions.

Who we are
The Canadian Neurological Sciences Federation (CNSF) is an affiliation of four national societies for neurology, neurosurgery, and related disciplines, who share a common interest in the functions and disorders of the human nervous system, and who work together to achieve common goals.
The combined membership of the four societies is about 1,100 and represents most of the specialists and residents in the areas of adult and child neurology, neurosurgery and clinical neurophysiology.
Join Your Society for Just $35 (First-year residents are free!)
If you are a first-year resident in neurology or neurosurgery, your society pays your membership fee for the first year. For subsequent years in residency, your annual membership costs only $35. For this low fee, you receive a significantly reduced rate on registration fees at the annual scientific meeting, a subscription to the Canadian Journal of Neurological Sciences, a highly respected journal, a Membership Directory and other membership benefits.

Member Residents Can Access Online Fellowship Directory
The CNSF maintains a directory of available fellowships in the Resident’s section of the Members’ Centre. Only members can access this section. Join now and receive your username and password to access this section.
Apply for Society Prizes
Residents are encouraged to apply for society and affiliate prizes by submitting a paper on a current research project. Winners receive honorariums and reimbursement for travel and accommodation at the meeting. The deadline for most prizes is December 31. Applicants for Society Prizes must be Society members.
The Canadian Headache Society and GlaxoSmithKline also offer a $50,000 fellowship for research in the area of headache.

Groups for Residents in Neurology and Neurosurgery
There are two groups organized and run by residents in neurology and neurosurgery programs. These groups meet at the annual scientific meeting in June to discuss common issues and maintain e-mail contact with one another.
CANADIAN JOURNAL OF NEUROLOGICAL SCIENCES (The Journal)
The Canadian Journal of Neurological Sciences is the official publication of the four member societies of the CNSF, publishing original work in both the clinical and basic neuro-sciences. The Journal encourages publication of papers from all branches of the neurosciences. The circulation is currently 1,600 and it is distributed in Canada, USA and abroad.
